What’s not to love about fried chicken and brioche bun? The ultimate brunch dish that is easy to fall in love with. And the Dandy Lane Cafe knows this very well. They have been serving their version of Fried Chicken Benny for the past four years now!
What’s in our chicken benny?
This all-time favorite dish is built around eggs with a comforting mixture of fried chicken, prosciutto, and spicy hollandaise sauce. The sauce is made with sriracha, which adds yet another layer of flavor to the dish.
Dubbed the ‘No Fakin’ Broasted Chicken here’, you will be amazed by just how much flavor their chicken has. Perhaps it’s because they brine, crumb and then serve it with homemade spicy hollandaise. YUM! Topped with prosciutto and a drizzle of fried onions, these mouth-watering dishes are just what you need on a Sunday morning.
The main ingredient that makes this dish unique is the sriracha hollandaise sauce. It’s similar to traditional hollandaise sauce, but it has a stronger taste thanks to the addition of sriracha. If you’re not a fan of spicy food, you can always mix in some lemon juice to tone down the heat.
Keep chicken juicy
Tender, juicy and crispy fried chicken needs care and practise. Here are some tips to make sure your chicken thigh is perfectly crispy:
1) Watch the oil temperature – hot oil should be between 170C and 190C.
2) Use tongs to turn the thighs over so they fry evenly.
3) Lift the chickens up with tongs and let them drain on paper towels before serving. The paper towels can act as a barrier to keep the excess oil from dripping away.
This dish is great for brunch, lunch. If you love fried chicken, you should definitely have this on the menu. It comes with a homemade spicy hollandaise sauce, which really sets this dish apart and gives it an extra kick! Full of flavor and perfect for Sunday meal.
